Council Nominees

I have been attending Christ Lutheran Church for the past 20 years. As a lifelong Lutheran, I was baptized, raised, confirmed and married to Robyn in the Lutheran Church. In July 2014, my oldest daughter Lauren was married to Curtis Kahovec, both longtime participants of the youth program. My son Nicholas and daughters Natalie and Kathryn were all baptized here, while Lauren, Nicholas and Natalie were also confirmed here, with Kathryn soon to be taking confirmation classes. Additionally, Lauren, Nicholas and Natalie have participated in the annual high school summer mission trips.

Prior to the shutdown, I was serving as a Worship Assistant under Pastor Joe and Pastor Mike at the 9:30 service. I have also participated in a number of the Easter, Maundy Thursday Dramas “Remember Me” playing the roles of Thomas and Peter.

Over the past 20 years, I have served Christ Lutheran Church in various capacities by being on the Budget Committee, as well as, the Sunday Service Revitalization Committee. More recently, I was nominated to and led the Senior Pastor Call Committee when we called Pastor Garrett to Christ Lutheran Church!

Currently, I am leading several small ministry groups including Spiritually Fit - a weekly men’s walking group that started 8 years ago and performs numerous service projects for the church campus and members of the congregation; and Blood Drive Donors - a bi-monthly service ministry, partnering with UCLA Health, Huntington Hospital and Houchin Community Blood Bank, collecting well over 100 units of blood in 2020!

Thank you for the opportunity to represent your Christ Lutheran Church family on the Church Council. I have been praying about this nomination and look forward to where the Holy Spirit will lead us in our walk with Jesus. If we have not yet already met, I hope you will take a moment to introduce yourself. I am extremely grateful, honored and excited to continue the near 60 year legacy of Christ Lutheran Church.
