Global Missions
At CLC we believe in Christ's great commission to his disciples--to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world. We support global mission organizations and have sent short-term mission teams to various places throughout the world to serve others in the name of Christ including:
As a church family, we sponsor global outreach initiatives through different nonprofit organizations including:
Lutheran World Relief
The mission of Lutheran World Relief is to affirm God’s love for all people, working with Lutherans and partners around the world to end poverty, injustice and human suffering.
Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry
The mission of Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry is to be a movement that engages individuals and communities in transformational partnerships across the globe. Centered in faith and dedicated to service, LPGM is called to action by sharing resources and hope.
World Hunger Appeal
By providing immediate relief to those who are hungry, World Hunger Appeal meets basic needs and recognizes the universal human right to food. But ending hunger is about more than food; by connecting people with the resources they need to produce food and gain access to clean water, education, health care and sources of income, long-term, sustainable change can be accomplished. This organization starts relationships by conversation and listening. They follow the belief that people know their own communities best. Their congregations and global companion churches first identify the local needs and related solutions to help make a difference. Then, World Hunger Appeal partners with communities to help make those solutions a reality. Through this comprehensive approach, they work to address hunger from all angles — both domestically and globally.
ELCA Disaster Response
ELCA disaster response believes every response needs to be rooted in the community; they work to accompany communities from immediate relief through long-term recovery. This organization addresses disaster response internationally and in the United States.
