Global Missions

Global Outreach and Missions

At CLC we believe in Christ's great commission to his disciples--to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world. We support global mission organizations and have sent short-term mission teams to various places throughout the world to serve others in the name of Christ including:

In 2013, CLC forged a partnership with Kasr el Dobara Evangelical Church (KDEC) in Cairo, Egypt, which is the largest evangelical church in the Middle East.

Since 2014, CLC has sent 5 teams to Northern Africa and the Middle East (Egypt, Morocco and Lebanon) to serve alongside our Egyptian brothers & sisters from KDEC in ministering to Syrian refugees, special needs children, members of the underground church, and the many destitute people, Christian and Muslim alike, in the region. Additionally, we send monthly financial donations to KDEC’s Food Bank. In early 2019, our congregation raised over $20,000 to help to feed special needs orphans in Cairo for well over a year.  We look forward to future mission trips.

High School Summer Missions

Over the years we have sent teams of high school students to various mission fields including Mexico to build homes and San Francisco to work with the homeless. Recently we have focused on the Navajo community in Black Mesa, AZ. Churches across the Reservation are striving to honor God in the midst of poverty, addiction, and other challenges. Our team has a unique, cross-culture experience as we spend time on “The Rez” and listen to stories from the Navajo who continue to live on the land of their ancestors, proudly maintaining their native language and traditions.

While there, we offer assistance in home maintenance and build projects, but also build relationships, worship, and enjoy our time living within another culture.

CLC's Partners in Global Outreach

As a church family, we sponsor global outreach initiatives through different nonprofit organizations including:

Lutheran World Relief

The mission of Lutheran World Relief is to affirm God’s love for all people, working with Lutherans and partners around the world to end poverty, injustice and human suffering.

Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry

The mission of Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry is to be a movement that engages individuals and communities in transformational partnerships across the globe. Centered in faith and dedicated to service, LPGM is called to action by sharing resources and hope.

World Hunger Appeal

By providing immediate relief to those who are hungry, World Hunger Appeal meets basic needs and recognizes the universal human right to food. But ending hunger is about more than food; by connecting people with the resources they need to produce food and gain access to clean water, education, health care and sources of income, long-term, sustainable change can be accomplished. This organization starts relationships by conversation and listening. They follow the belief that people know their own communities best. Their congregations and global companion churches first identify the local needs and related solutions to help make a difference. Then, World Hunger Appeal partners with communities to help make those solutions a reality. Through this comprehensive approach, they work to address hunger from all angles — both domestically and globally.

ELCA Disaster Response

ELCA disaster response believes every response needs to be rooted in the community; they work to accompany communities from immediate relief through long-term recovery. This organization addresses disaster response internationally and in the United States.
