"The Final Days of Jesus - Jesus Wept"

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it. Luke 19:41. As Jesus approaches Jerusalem, he weeps over the city. Here is this place, a study in contradictions, it is the place of the temple, it is the place God choose, but at the same time, it destroys prophets. And yet, Jesus loved it. What do make of this? We live in a society that has many sins, but God still loves this society. How do we respond?

"Getting Ready"

Theme: In the first chapter of Luke, we see the angel Gabriel tell Zechariah what’s going to happen. He is going to have a son, that son will be a prophet, and many will come back to God. What does that mean for us today? What does it mean to come back to God? Why would we? 

How Did We Get to Christmas?

Confession and asking for forgiveness allows us to really understand who we are grow. This modern phenomenon of “I’m sorry if I offended you…”  deprives us of a chance to be foregivin and become more than we ar. This break and sin before God sets the stage for everything. If we don’t get the pain of the Fall, we can’t understand the need for a messiah. 

What Does the Lord Require of You?

Micah lays out all the great things God has done and all the awful things that the people of Israel have done. And in this one verse, God says, here is how you are supposed to live.  What does it mean to walk humbly with God?
