Stewardship & the road to Emmaus – What do we do with what we’ve been given now that we are free? This is start of the three weeks on Stewardship and culminates with Commitment Sunday on April 24th.

What does it mean to be saved? You’ve been brought out of slavery, what do you have to live for now?

Who is the king of the Jews? Who is our king? Where we in the sweep of history? What does it mean when Jesus says, the Master has need…? What does he need from us?

Theme: Given the choice between freeing Jesus and a common criminal, the crowds choose the criminal. This Sunday, we’ll examine Barabbas, the rebel who lived when Jesus died. His name means “son of the Father” an appellation we all could and should wear.

The Pharisees are traditionally thought of as the Bad Guys of the story, they are angry and arrogant, the perfect villian in modern eyes. But the truth is much more interesting. What can we learn from these guys?
